Meet Eve

Eve is a female African Grey parrot (Psittacus erithacus) in her 30’s.  In 2010 she was rescued from deplorable conditions in a Tennessee breeder’s basement and fostered by a good samaritan until she regained her health.  Existing in such filthy conditions left her underweight and malnourished with severe bacterial infections.  Her foster mom brought her to Noah’s Ark in 2012, knowing Eve would flourish in an aviary environment, and she has.  She is once again a vibrant, beautiful, free-flying parrot and will sometimes take almonds from her keeper’s hand.  This species has a conservation status of vulnerable, with humans being the largest threat to wild populations.  They are native to the Congo region of Africa and can live over 40 years.
